Jacksonville Beach FL 365 Things to Do Beach Access Map
Jacksonville Beach, FL has tons of BEACH ACCESS and dune walkovers, handicap accessible entry, restrooms and showers. Click on BEACH ACCESS to pull up the map.
As a beach resident here are a few of my favorites:
If you're in North Jacksonville Beach, FL then 19th Avenue North is my choice. If you're driving they have a large parking area and there is usually spaces available. Plus there is always parking on the adjacent streets if needed. They have a shower there with a foot wash so if you're looking for a place to drive to and walk the beach it's a great choice. You're very centrally located it's about equal distance to walk to the town center in Atlantic Beach north or head south to the pier. It's especially nice in the afternoons or early evenings as the sun is blocked by the condo's if you're heading south.
If you're in South Jacksonville Beach, FL then 6th Avenue South Oceanfront park is my choice. See my blog post on this park for more information. The only thing missing for this beach access is a shower so make sure you bring your powder bags or jug of water for sand control.
You'll notice the consistency of the sand changes slightly between North and South Jax beach. North is more course and south more powder. You really can't go wrong no matter which beach access you choose. If your bike riding and want a ramp over then you just have to go a couple of blocks in either direction either for a handicap accessible ramp or a dune ramp to get your bike and gear across. The tide schedule is always a must prior to planning your Jacksonville Beach, Fl activities.
